In November 2004 Aboriginal AFL legend Michael Long and prominent Aboriginal Elders embarked on an historic and remarkable journey, walking from Melbourne to Canberra to meet with Prime Minister John Howard.<p>

It was a statement of strength, leadership and inspiration. It was a step towards uniting all Australians. The support from Indigenous and non-Indigenous people was overwhelming. Most wished they could have walked with him.<P>

The Albury Wodonga Indigenous community will celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Ngan Girra Festival and this year there will be a special focus on the yidaki. The festival is a living cultural celebration where all people are encouraged to mingle, taste, explore and experience the wonderful diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their culture.
