Arnhem Weavers

Two dynamic women who have lived in their remote ancestral homeland of Mapuru in North East Arnhem Land all their lives have developed workshops in their community to share their culture with others. Daily they spin and weave articles that they need for themselves, their relatives, for ceremonies and for sale. These sisters have remarkable skill, which is shown by the extent to which they have travelled throughout Australia teaching their skills through workshops at galleries and museums.

Indigenous actor needed for Shakespeare-by-the-river

The Acting Factory Inc. requires an indigenous performer between the ages of 18 and 30 to play 'Puck' in their 2010 season of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'.
The concept revolves around 'Puck' being the spiritual connection to the land and forests for colonial settlers and convicts.
performances are held outdoors on the banks of the Nepean River annually and are supported as a community event by the Penrith City Council.

Hairdressing salon / Training of indigeneous apprentices

I am a qualified Hairstylist of 20 years. Former apprentice of the year and i have my certificate 1V workplace training and assessment.I have been hairdressing in Sydney, London, Paris Newcastle and Broome. I have found a home here in Broome and i have been welcomed much to my honour.I have seen within the hairdressing industry lots of young indigenous people loose enthusiasm as they must go to perth for one month, taking them away from friends and family and lending the experience to new unfavourable ideas.I am passionate about hairdressing and i know the benifits of this trade.
