"Looking to try your hand at a trade but aren't too sure if it's for you? Then why not apply for our free nationally recognised Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Pre-apprenticeship Program!
This ten week program, based at Petersham TAFE, is aimed at providing you with the skills and knowledge required to pursue a career in the electricity industry.
The program also includes a day each week in the EnergyAustralia apprentice training workshop to try things out first hand.
If you like what you see, you can then apply for the 2007 EnergyAustralia Apprenticeship Program.
So whether you're a school leaver, or looking for a change of career, this could be a great learning opportunity for you.

We are offering Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders the opportunity to participate in a fully funded nationally recognised Pre-apprenticeship
Program run by TAFE NSW - Sydney Institute.
When you successfully finish the program you'll have a Certificate I in Electrotechnology and the knowledge and skills to confidently apply for the EnergyAustralia Apprenticeship Program.
Apprenticeships in Electrical Mechanic, Lineworker and Cable Jointing start in 2007. The Pre-apprenticeship Program will be held at Petersham TAFE's Crystal Street Campus starting on 17 July 2006 and will run for ten weeks between 8.00am and 4.30pm.
Work experience will be held each Wednesday at the EnergyAustralia Meadowbank or Matraville Apprentice Training Centre.
