Program brief:

The 16th Annual Training program is designed to bring together community advocates from across the Asia-Pacific region and indigenous Australia, particularly those working for non-government and community based organisations. The training will provide participants with knowledge of international human rights laws and the working of the United Nations and other inter-governmental systems. It will include sessions on: economic, social and cultural rights; civil and political rights; a human rights based approach to development; developing advocacy strategies; media and video skills; internet research and advocacy; an introduction to human rights fact-finding and investigation; corporate accountability and human rights; and the environment and human rights.

This is the second time that the program has been held in Timor Leste, the homeland of DTP's founder and patron, H.E. José Ramos-Horta.
