4 star rating for Family Business
Rob and Melinda Chewying have achieved a great deal in their ten years of small business development. Now it is officially recognised with a four star rating from Micronavigator. Rob tells the story of the process of obtaining the rating.
As a business testing the boundaries of social acceptance Micro Navigator gave us a physical path and a reason for why paper work needed to be done, being in business for 10 years we felt most of the work had been done it just wasn't in order. My wife and I set out to achieve the 4 stars rating. Working through Navigator gave us a sense of achievement; it felt good to be able to quantify the work we had done.
When we received the congratulations via the e mail we felt our business had found more credibility, one of the hardest things in business is finding credibility and support.
Our business started from 300 dollars, getting a loan from banks was out of the question, the general saying was come back in 4 years.
The presentation was held at Sheppaton Victoria at the time the ISX was being held, presenting the accreditation was Barbara Gabogrecian and Gerhardt Person web cast across the word we accepted the award.
A small business in the sleepy town of Nowra on the south coast was given a piece of paper that recognized that we were having a go, it felt good.
I would like to think that this tool helps us find people or organisations that have the same desire to push boundaries and challenge existing methods of work practices.
The quest for finding a bridging tool for welfare recipients that multiplies is a tall order but I feel is possible, it just requires like minded people constructing and focusing from inside out.
