Noomool is the first collaboration between the ISX and Pozible - the Melbourne based crowdfunding group. Please support this project. We seek funding for no ordinary documentary. It is a fight to build awareness about the importance of the incredible pristine environment of the King Sound and a culture in danger of being lost. By investing in this project you are investing in the preservation of this incredible natural environment and the spirit of the Mayala people.

The pearling industry thrived in Broome, with up to 400 Pearling Luggers docked there until the mid 20th century. People from Japan, China, Malaysia, Europe and elsewhere were brought into work on the boats and dive for pearl shells. When the pearl harvests would finish the traditional cultural festivities and celebrations would begin.
In 1970 the community of Broome decided to turn the Shinju Matsuri into a festival to not only acknowledge the pearling industry, but to also showcase Broome's beauty, hisotry and community to the outside world. From then on Shinju Matsuri has been a festival that presents a talented music and arts industry unique to Broome.
