Australian Indigenous Touch Football Team

The fab B DLC in action!

AUSTRALIAN INDIGENOUS TOUCH FOOTBALL TEAM FNDRAISING CAMPAIGN
Cultural Exchange Tour of New Zealand [1st - 7th April 2008]$1.00 from 60,000 people - Australia wide; OR
$60.00 from 1,000 people - Australia wide; OR
$2,000.00 from 30 organisations - Australia wide
TARGET = $60,000 [2 teams]
9 WEEKS!!

That's all it will take - it is very simple and it has worked before!!

Aboriginal People represent just over 2% of Australia's total population which equates to over 500,000 Aboriginal & TSI People Australia wide so if we can't pull $1.00 from 12% of our People Australia wide then we are not really trying!!!
You helped the Australian Indigenous Boxing Team and now as Cultural Ambassador to the 'Inaugural' Australian Indigenous Men & Women's Touch Football Teams I am seeking your support once again.
This is the first time Australian Indigenous Touch Football teams have been selected to compete in a competition in another country. Australia's most talented Indigenous players have been selected from areas including Sydney, Perth, Newcastle, Dubbo, Wollongong, Lismore, Ballina, Kempsey, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Townsville, Cairns, Bundaberg, Mt Isa, Darwin, Katherine & Alice Springs. The team contains current Touch Football Australia National Open and Youth World Cup team members, elite State of Origin & National Touch League representatives including dual Federation of International Touch World Cup winner and current Australian Women's Open player, Bo de la Cruz, dualFederation of International Touch World Cup winners and current Men's Open players, Phil Gyemere and Peter Stoddart.
As you can see this Men & Women's Team are very talented and whilst I appreciate all the support given by the Australian Sports Commission and Touch Football Australia to the development of this sport at the development stage through their National Talent ID program there is still NO financial support for Indigenous only Teams and/or events on a National level. How do we as Indigenous People reach "world standards" if we can't get to the world?
This is not just about Touch Football or Indigenous Touch Football - this is about supporting the health and wellbeing of our People - providing our youth with a healthy attitude, pride and self-esteem - the ability to up-skill themselves and more importantly to become role-models and leaders for our next generation of youth so that we develop a healthy and positive sustainable cycle for our People. As we know the biggest killer of our People is diabetes and obesity - this is just one small project to help counter these problems. These young men and women have changed their lifestyles and attitudes dramitically and are now testament to the success of this project
This is a bigger project for me this time as we need to raise enough funds to send 2 teams to New Zealand [28 players and 8 officials]. The costs equate to approximately $2,000.00 per person. As stated above $60.00 from 1000 people/organisations/businesses AUSTRALIA WIDE would get the team to New Zealand. We proved we can do it before and I know with your support once again, we can get there again.
Donations can be made as follows:- [kindly note that I have set up a separate account under my business name for this fund to save unnecessary costs and time]. I will put a fundraising tally on my website so you can see how we are going - www.dreamtime.auz.net

If you do not wish this to happen to your donation, please advise and we will return your donation to you. If you require a receipt, please advise.
Please pass this on to all your networks - take up an office collection - family collection - community collection. As I said this is OUR AUSTRALIAN TEAM - let's show them we are behind them. $1 from 60,000 people Australia wide or even better - $60 from only 1000 people - let's do it. I have started the fund off today with a donation of $60.00 from myself - let's build on it!!!
If you need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me or Isabel Appo - Australian Indigenous Touch Football - nttouch@octa4.net.au [Touch Football Australia NT Branch] or Tel: 08 89368131.
